B is for Beer

B is for Beer.

*That's me in the #40 Pat Tillman Arizona Cardinals jersey*

Yesterday I ventured out to ONeal's in Clarksville, TN - a pretty decent place to watch a football game via NFL Sunday ticket when my favorite game of the week isn't broadcast on either the local FOX or CBS networks.

But I digress.

I was there to see the Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals game.

And drink some beer.

After being in AZ for almost 25 years, I wasn't surprised and nearly expected that I would be the only Cardinal fan in the building--but low and behold there was one other guy! After that I was rather underwhelmed by the lack of support for the Cowboys (aka America's Team).

Anyway, after numerous beers and an OT, the Cardinals won 19-13. Yay!

I know there was more to this story, but after numerous beers this is all that mattered.

A is for Acronym

A is for Acronym

OSFA. One. Size. Fits. All.

Somehow that 'universal' tag seemed so appropriate at the time I created this blog.

It was right then at the creation of my blog that I made up my mind that I wanted to write about anything and everything--frankly because tackling many subjects seemed easier than mastering just one, if that makes any sense.

Curiously I still struggle with this concept. What should be easy, I make difficult. Do I still believe that each entry should be something about which I can write at length? Seriously, this is supposed to be fun!

This is my personal challenge: Write. Period.

Ultimately the point is that writing is better than not writing.

And I haven't been writing.

Damn it~!

However--it is now time to look forward, not back.

A is for Acronyms.

You'd be surprised at the number of people that can't figure out LOL. Or LMAO. Don't even get me started on LMFAO or ROFLMFAO.

That said, there are a few acronyms that float around the Internet that are not all that recognizable at first, but once explained produce that knowing 'ah-ha!' look.

NSFW... Not Safe For Work.
(thanks Rachel!)

I saw that today and realized that at the very least I should acknowledge it because quite possibly this was created just for me. I don't know exactly how other people's minds work, but there seems to be no end to the inappropriateness that shuttles in and out of my mind at work. If one day I write a book, I'm sure the title should be NSFW.
